Abstract

In this paper, the elliptical lens is made of a machinable glass-ceramic MACOR. The radiation patterns of a 13-element 1-D dual dipole array and an 8 x 4 2-D array are calculated using ray tracing and integration methods [1] and measured in an anechoic chamber. Theoretical and measured results agree well for both the patterns and steering angles. Sensitivity is measured from 38 GHz to 75 GHz for three different antenna sizes. The antenna array will be used in plasma imaging diagnostic systems to detect the electron density fluctuations [6-7].
