Abstract

Background: Majority of studies have found that women undergoing elective caesarean section experience increased levels of anxiety. Objective: This study aims to measure and explore levels of anxiety during the day of surgery using the Hopkins instrument for measuring anxiety symptoms (HSCL-25). Methods: This is a prospective study, randomized in which 300 women with an indication for caesarean section. Anxiety levels were evaluated using the Hopkins Symptom Checklist-25 (HSCL-25), 2h pre-surgery.
