Abstract
A numerical approach of structural analysis is proposed for carbon-fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) by combining atomistic simulation and finite element analysis using Materials Studio and Abaqus. Heat curing resin is modeled by molecular dynamics (MD) with consideration of cross-linking reaction, and thermal and mechanical properties are estimated. Using these obtained properties, structural analysis is performed to examine stress concentration and crack propagation.
