Abstract

The Transporters is an animated series that teaches emotion recognition through stories depicting social interactions between characters that are all vehicles with real human faces grafted on them. It has proved to be effective in improving emotion recognition skills in children with ASD. Its automated, home-based format requires no face-to-face session with professionals and is thus substantially cost saving. The present study aimed at replicating the positive outcomes with Chinese children with ASD in Hong Kong, while extending the investigation to an additional group of children with ASD with co-occurring ADHD.
