Abstract

The purpose of this article is to reveal the results of the correlation analysis of emotional intelligence and aggressiveness of servicemen (contract, active duty, noncommissioned officers, junior and senior officers) who participated and did not participate in the 2020 44-day Artsakh war, bringing forward the hypothesis that the degree of combat activity of a serviceman in a combat situation is directly proportional to their psychological stability particularly with the level of emotional intelligence and the manifestation of aggressiveness. The evidence of combat activity is associated with mental, psychological and physical tasks, which are caused both by changes in the methods and means of warfare, as well as by abruptness, negative information, psychological and other psycho-emotional influences. Therefore, considering aforementioned conditions, the study of the factors that encourage military personnel to combat activity is a priority. Based on the purpose of the article, the following questions arise: to study and experimentally identify the average indicators of emotional intelligence and aggressiveness of military personnel who participated in combat operations, to identify the correlational features of these psychological factors by drawing appropriate conclusions. As a result of psychological testing (N. Hall's emotional intelligence, BassPerry aggressiveness diagnostic methods) and statistical analysis («Excell-2010», «SPSS-26» programs), we came to a conclusion that the factor of emotional intelligence of servicemen is directly and inversely correlated with the components of aggressiveness. In addition, the level of emotional intelligence of servicemen and the manifestation of aggressiveness are determined by the impact of war stress factors.
