Abstract

This chapter describes the clinical and pathologic features of mast cell neoplasms, which includes not only the variants that are recognized by the new 2016 World Health Organization (WHO) diagnostic criteria of system mastocytosis, but also several rare mast cell disease entities that are not yet fully recognized by the WHO. In addition, the recent discoveries of molecular genetic characteristics of mastocytosis and advent of novel therapies are also reviewed in this chapter.
