Abstract

1) To test the reliability of current emergency medical services (EMS) trauma protocols for appropriate triaging of pregnant blunt trauma patients and 2) to validate previously derived guidelines for trauma center triage of pregnant blunt trauma patients. The new guidelines include the existing county criteria plus heart rate >110 beats per minute, complaints of chest pain, history of loss of consciousness and third trimester of pregnancy.
