Abstract
Developing residents and fellows as medical student teachers is an important component of graduate medical education and team-based practice. However, resident teaching is often limited by internal factors (eg, lack of comfort with teaching, lack of specific medical knowledge) and external factors (eg, lack of time available for teaching). Faculty encouraging and directing the use of shared resources can facilitate residents as teachers in both the bedside and didactic setting.
