Abstract
Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD) is associated with the tendency to interpret ambiguous social cues as threatening. Interpretation bias training (IBT) increases benign interpretations of ambiguous face-emotions via computerized feedback. It may reduce irritability/aggression, which are core features of DMDD. In an open and randomized trial, we test the efficacy of IBT and model learning mechanisms. We hypothesize that relative to healthy youth, those with DMDD have impairments in the ability to learn new, positive associations of ambiguous face-emotions that predict treatment response.
