Abstract
• While common in chronic HIV, acute pancreatitis has rarely presented as primary HIV infection. We describe the second ever reported case of an adolescent who presented with acute pancreatitis masquerading as acute HIV infection. • Acute or primary HIV infection is the time from initial infection until complete seroconversion. Given high levels of viremia and the positive correlation with transmission, such patients are highly infectious.
