Abstract

We report the results of 105Pd NQR experiments on NpPd5Al2 and CePd5Al2. In the normal state at 6 K, the 105Pd NQR spectrum consists of four lines in both systems. These lines can be assigned to two sets of ±1/2 ↔ ±3/2 and ±3/2 ↔ ±5/2 NQR transitions arising from two crystallographically inequivalent Pd sites. From the analysis of the 105Pd NQR spectrum the nuclear quadrupole frequency νQ, asymmetry parameter η and electric field gradient Vzz have been deduced.
