Abstract
Biospecimen Research includes biospecimen collection, processing and storage method validation, biospecimen stability studies, biospecimen quality control and research on the impact of preanalytical variables on the quality of the samples. Hypothermic conditions and cryogenic temperatures are part of the critical preanalytical variables. The presentation will show how biospecimen research bridges the disciplines of cryobiology and biorepositories. It will focus on different biospecimen research projects and results, including stability of genomic DNA prior extraction, relative to cold temperature conservation; Metabolomics in blood and cold temperature; Phosphoproteins in tissue and freezing delays; Impact of cold storage on FFPE specimens; promising Quality Control markers relative to cryostorage variables. Source of funding: None declared. Conflict of interest: None declared. evelyne.guiot@ibbl.lu
