Abstract

Geographical analysis of Evliy Cheleby (popular and educated Turkish traveller) travel book was made according to text of the Russian version. The traveller described ancient territory of current of Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Moldavia, Romania and arid steppe area nearest of the Black and Azov Seas northern coasts. Special attention was given consideration for territory between mouths of Danube and Dniepr Rivers. In the Cheleby’s travel book located information about nature of the area, rivers, population, villages, customs, handcraft, farmings, trades, military events in XVII century.
