Abstract

The research objective includes identifying efficiency of the ‘Quizlet’ educational platform, intended for teaching modern languages, when teaching a dead language. The paper describes experience of using ‘Quizlet’ in teaching Latin and analyses results of a students’ survey and academic achievements of students who used the application to acquire the Latin vocabulary. Scientific originality of the study involves a comprehensive theoretical and practical analysis of the program functionalities from the viewpoint of the Latin language teaching. The conducted research allows concluding that ‘Quizlet’ is an efficient tool to teach the Latin vocabulary and to raise students’ interest in the discipline, but a teacher’s control and error correction are essential.
