Abstract

We studied arrhythmic effects of acute ischemia (IS) and reperfusion (REP) as well as β-adrenergic stimulation (isoproterenol, ISO, 0.2 μM) before and after IS/REP injury in the canine isolated coronary-perfused right atrium (RA). Transmembrane action potential duration (APD70), refractoriness, conduction velocity (CV, measured with unipolar electrograms), and pseudo-ECG were recorded. Spontaneous and programmed electrical stimulation-induced atrial fibrillation (AF) and flutter (AFl) were evaluated.
