Abstract
Статтю присвячено пам’яті канадського вченого Фредеріка Бантинга, автора відкриття інсуліну. Наведено стислі біографічні дані вченого та історія його відкриття. Згадується роль попередників Бантинга у розкритті патогенезу цукрового діабету та розв’язанні проблеми отримання терапевтичного препарату інсулін.
