Abstract
The article studies the issues of perception and evaluation by domestic historians of the most significantpersonalities in the history of Kazakhstan. The work is based on the study of the results of sociological surveys of questionnaires among specialists on various issues of the history of Kazakhstan. This study is part of a project organized in order to develop a concept for the formation of modern historical science in Kazakhstan. The customer of the study was the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch.Valikhanov, and the executor of the project is a special working group of employees of the Institute of State History of the KN MES RK. The study was carried out by obtaining respondents' answers to the questions of a special questionnaire, the main purpose of which was to study the state of historical science in Kazakhstan. Based on the data obtained, an analysis is made of the opinions of specialists from the cities of republican significance Nur-Sultan and Almaty on historical figures who played the most positive role in the history of Kazakhstan.
