Abstract

A group of 27 patients (4 males and 23 females) with medial femoral neck fracture, who were treated by multiple pinning during 1977-1987, were studied. They received operation between 55 to 84 years (mean 74.9 years). They were followed for 0.5 to 7.3 years (mean 1.7 years). 85 percent (23 patients) got bone union. 11 percent (3 patients) suffered from late segmental collapse. The prognosis seemes to depend on type of fracture, age, osteoporosis, reduction and technique of pinning.
