Abstract

Mapping of exogenous processes is an urgent task of modern research. Exodynamic processes are widespread within the Central Ecological Zone of the Baikal Natural Territory (CEZ BPT), the development of which is associated with a variety of both natural and man-made factors affecting the intensity of their course. A medium-scale mapping was carried out, which was based on the principle of isolating the leading exogenous process. Along with the analysis of literary data and field research materials, the most important source of information was the use of satellite imagery data. As a result of thematic decoding by direct and indirect signs, the main morphological features of various genetic types of relief were identified, which determine the features of their display on satellite images and correspond to certain classes of exogenous processes. The article presents, with a high degree of detail, fragments of the map of representative sites of the distribution of modern exogenous processes of the CES BPT, a characteristic feature of which is the manifestation of a variety of exogenous processes with varying degrees of intensity. Such medium-scale ones are a reliable basis for drawing up both zoning schemes of modern exogenous processes of relief formation and territorial planning not only for the organization of rational nature management, but also for the optimization of environmental protection activities.
