Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the theoretical relationship between regional benefits, regional support, and recommendation intention by hosting international sporting event. This study surveyed 263 spectators who visited Jeonju Word Cup stadium in the FIFA U-20 World Cup. IBM SPSS & AMOS 24.0 were employed to test frequency analyses, reliability analyses, correlation analyses, confirmatory factor analyses, and structural equation model test. In particular, the mediating effect of regional support on the relationship between regional benefits and recommendation intention was examined. The results of this study are : (1) the direct-effect model was conducted to examine the role of regional benefits on recommendation intention. (2) the fully mediated structural model linked regional benefits to regional support and regional support to recommendation intention. (3) the partially mediated structural model was indicated that regional benefits were also shown to have significant relationships with recommendation intention. (4) regional support plays an important mediating role in the relationship between regional benefits and recommendation intention. As such, these results will make both scientific and practical contributions.
