Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to explore the model of utility of database users. Methodology: for this purpose the used mixed method: content analysis , and Survey method by self-made questionnaire (25 questions) , the population in this study, were users who have paid for the use of databases, for texts, used form the relevant literature on the utility in during 2011-2015Y from Science Direct, Proquest, and Ebsco databases. For Sampling, random sampling has used in 2 information center: central Library and document center of University of Tehran & Library of Industrial management Institute. About 50 people were interviewed over a period of 60 days and the stop interviews were saturated answers and failure to provide information in the field interviewe, and 200 people completed the questioners. Finding: The findings showed that for the main categories of databases that enhance their utility payments are based on the use of databases, and finally the model of utility of users in databases in Iran was presented. Result: in order of priority were: Information needs, quality, incentives, additional information, and the personal and social features.
