Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of humanistic approach to upbringing and education in the creative heritage of Ukrainian educators of the second half of the 19th century. The worldview position of researchers on developing harmonious personality by humanizing education and upbringing process is shown through the analysis of the pedagogical heritage of S. Myropolsky and Kh. Alchevska. It has been found out that the basis of the humanistic concept of S. Myropolsky and Kh. Alchevska were the principles of humanistic pedagogy. The educators revealed the essence of the humane approach to education and upbringing process in public school and stressed the fact that the teacher's personality is the key one in the process of humane upbringing.
