Abstract

Background The shut off fittings on the linear part of the trunk oil pipeline allows to reduce the leakages to the environment in the emergency situations. The effectiveness of the shut off valves exploitation depends on their number and location on the linear part of the main oil pipeline. Aims and Objectives To provide the analysis and to reveal the optimal solutions of allocation of the shut off valves on the linear part of the trunk oil pipeline accounting the pipeline and fittings deformation rate and the future possible accidents. Methods There are provided the analysis of the summarized expenses including the buying, installation, exploitation of the shut off valves, accounting the expenses from possible accidents in the case of optimal allocation of the optimal number of shut off valves. Results It is revealed, that optimal number and allocation of the shut off valves depends on the minimum expenses, including the buying, installation, exploitation of the shut off valves, accounting the expenses from possible accidents in the case of optimal allocation of the optimal number of shut off valves. Allocation of the shutoff valves equidistantly are not optimal and expensive.
