Abstract

Issues of providing psychological assistance have become increasingly relevant during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, public relations developing in the field of providing psychological assistance to the population in the Russian Federation do not have proper legislative regulation. In order to protect and guard the mental health of the population, the authors of the proposed article draw attention to the need to adopt a federal law regulating the legal status of psychologists and the provision of psychological assistance. Based on the analysis of the regulatory legal and strategic documents of the Russian Federation, international strategic acts, theoretical approaches, etc., the most effective and efficient way to regulate the activities of psychologists is its licensing. The essence of the legislative changes proposed by the authors, including licensing requirements, is presented in the provisions of this article.
