Abstract

In today's environment, the most well-known concept is digital transformation, which essentially means digital change of all processes, products, systems in an organisation. All processes are subject to change, because the introduction of digital technologies changes the entire economic space of the organisation. For example, product customers have high demands on product quality. Only the introduction of embedded quality in all production processes, which is ensured through automated control and the introduction of digital twins – a prototype of a product, process or system that can solve serious problems in adjusting product quality in real time – can satisfy this approach at low cost. The authors emphasise the need for digital transformation and implementation of digital twins for high-tech products with unique characteristics. The article highlights the directions of digital transformation implementation that are applicable to high-tech industries.
