Abstract

The article provides the analysis of the issues on introducing the gender equality standards in the activity of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Apparatus. It is noted that these issues become extremely important in the framework of the parliamentary reform implementation. It is presented the best practices and experiences of other State bodies in ensuring the gender equality standards (at all levels). It is underlined that the gender equality is an equal legal status of women and men as well as equal opportunities for its realization. It allows the possibility for the representatives of both sexes to have an equal right regarding their participation in all spheres of the public life. In this regard, it is analyzed the different tools for ensuring the gender equality standards in the public institutions (i.e. gender audit, gender legal expertise, gender analysis etc.). It is also highlighted the status of the work on ensuring the gender equality in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Apparatus (taking into account its organizational and legal status as well as the specific treats of this State body activity). On the basis of the conducted research, it is developed the practical recommendations on introducing the gender equality standards in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Apparatus, in particular taking into consideration the main goals of the parliamentary and public administration reforms).
