Abstract
The objective of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of middle managers’ activity, as well as to determine the conditions for its increase through the improvement of the entire management system of middle managers in Russian banks. The methodological basis of the research was formed by the systemic and structural-functional approaches, within the framework of which the management system for middle managers with all its constituent functions was built. Methods of observation and survey made it possible to determine the primary qualities, the development of which will help this category of managers to manage their team effectively and achieve organizational goals in the shortest possible time, with minimal resources expended. Research results show that it is at the middle level of management that the most important processes are carried out that determine the competitiveness of the organization, since the middle managers, using great autonomy in decision-making, carries out operational management in the bank. Prospects of the study can be useful to heads of banking organizations.
