Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify and outline the general and specific features of the activity of the Chinese artists’ unions located in the territory of “Greater China”. The article presents a general picture of the current state of the Chinese artists’ creative unions in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, studied on the basis of scientific literature analysis, as well as charters and official Internet resources of organizations, including in the Chinese language. The scientific originality of the study is due to the lack of generalizing works on this topic outside the territory of China. As a result, it is shown that the unions of the Chinese artists of “Greater China” make a great contribution to the development of both local and general Chinese artistic environment. Along with the features inherent in the association of artists as such, the unions considered in the article also have specific features, such as a variety of stylistic and plot content in the works of the associations’ members, as well as the absence of the influence of the Soviet model in the organizational structure of some creative unions of the specified region.
