Abstract

The peacekeeping operation in Afghanistan was officially completed on August 31, 2021. The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has faced a socio-economic collapse and the expansion of drug business, and the Taliban has returned to power, which is why the problem of the consequences of the completion of the peacekeeping operation and the Taliban's coming to power in Afghanistan is becoming urgent. This work is aimed at identifying the most likely consequences of the completion of the peacekeeping operation in Afghanistan, awaiting both the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan itself and the Central Asia region, as well as such major actors in international relations as the Russian Federation, the United States of America, the People's Republic of China and the Republic of India.
