Abstract

Children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. The trust with us is to be handed over to them after we leave this earth. No one is to stay here permanently and no one is without a duty to behave and play his role as a man on the earth whereby the affairs of this earth are discharged in an excellent manner. Life and death both are creations of God and those are with accountability. Manners are learnt by the children by observation and also by educating them in a polite manner. A time may come when politeness fails and discipline needs some strictness. A very careful and wise behaviour is required from the side of the parents, the teachers, the elders and all those who have the responsibility to make the personality of the child pleasant and yet following the norms of a civilized society without causing any injury or harm to the others. Good manners are those which promote goodness and make the society healthy and advancing towards its goals. Bad manners are those which cause evil and make the society polluted and hamper its progress to come forward and meet the challenges of the time which are ever new and require fresh awareness and courage to meet them. Honesty, truthfulness, extending helping hand, no back biting, no abusing, no uncleanliness and to perform ones own work as far as possible with ones own hands all are manners that bring goodness in the society. Tolerance, patience, forbearance are also noble manners. Children are to be taught principles and also that they have never to compromise on principles. The latitude is to be given only where it is so required reasonably. Flattery is not the same as appreciation of a good work. Observing patience is not cowardness where it is to reform the other person. Justice and injustice are not the same, one is fair throughout and the other is unfair throughout. To get a right lawfully and to usurp the right of others are not the same. One behaviour is lawful the other is unlawful. All faculties in the child are important to be developed in a balanced manner whereby he or she is able to use them according as to the fair need keeping always in view that others too have got the right and that ones umbrella should not be so rotated as to break the eye or the nose of the other as to do so will be an abuse of the lawful right of liberty. The freedom of expression and the freedom of work are very valuable gifts of God given to every human being and a child who is new in the world too has been given that right and his proper education and discipline will not only make him strong but also will ultimately make a nation strong. Every child of a nation is the most important unit of the society deserving full care and tender of him in all his needs and necessities. Those who neglect the young nation cut a sorry figure after lapse of time.
