New material of Dolichopodidae has been recently collected and identified, with 41 species (25 species new for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region, seven species found for the first time in West Siberia, and two species new for Siberia). Campsicnemus alpinus and Nematoproctus longifilus are found outside Europe for the first time. New records of five species (Dolichopus lancearius, D. setiger, D. subpennatus, Rhaphium tibiale, Thrypticus atomus) fill gaps between European and East Siberian areas of these species. In total, 64 species are recorded in this region, which apparently make up 40–50% of actual Dolichopodidae fauna in the Khanty-Mansi Region. This paper provides a distribution pattern for each collected species.

Acute poisoning with alcohols and organic solvents in the structure of chemical trauma in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region – Yugra for the period 2013–2022

Introduction. Alcohol poisoning occupies a dominant place in the structure of all poisoning groups in the territory of the Russian Federation. Epidemiological data in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region – Yugra show the need for an analysis of their prevalence. The purpose of the work is to establish the prevalence of poisoning in the territory, to determine the proportion of poisoning in nosological groups according to the severity of the course and fatal outcomes. Material and methods. The object of the study is the cases of poisoning (12181 people) in the territory for the period 2013–2022 in groups T51–T52 (n=3952), in nosologies: T51.0 – ethanol (n=3339), T51.1 – methanol (n=52), T52.3 – glycols (n=45), distributed according to severity of the condition (mild, moderate and severe), the number of deaths. The analysis of the prevalence of poisoning, the proportion of those poisoned in groups, the distribution of patients by severity of the condition, and the rate of increase (decrease) in poisoning in 2022 compared with 2013 was carried out. Results. The number of poisoning cases in the T51–65 group exceeds the number of poisoning cases in the T36–T50 groups by 57.8%. The rate of decline of those poisoned in 2022 compared to 2013 was –70.2%, in groups T36–T50: –71.4%, in groups T51–T65: –69.25%. Ethanol poisoning of mild severity amounted to 64.2%, moderate severity – 19.7%, severe – 16.2% (methanol – 11.6, 32.7, 55.7%; ethylene glycol – 17.3, 43.5, 39.2, respectively). Deaths predominate in the T51 group – 43.9%, ethanol and methanol account for 28.9% of deaths, and in the T52 group (33.4%). In two groups (T51–T52), the mortality rate was 46.4% (228 cases). The generalization of the information received on the prevalence of acute poisoning of chemical etiology in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region – Yugra for the analyzed period (2013–2022) shows the structure of the incidence and allows predicting the volume of the possible number of poisonings, comparing the structure of poisoning with other regions of the Russian Federation. Limitations. When studying the total number of poisonings in the territory of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region – Yugra for 2013–2022, an assessment of 12181 poisoning was carried out. Conclusion. The average prevalence of poisoning in the period from 2013 to 2022 in the T51 group was 22.6, in the T52 group – 1.4. The proportion of poisoning in the structure of poisoning in the T51 group was 30.5%, in the T52 group – 1.9%. The indicator of poisoning according to the severity of the course: in the group of ethanol poisoning, there was a predominance of patients with mild severity (64.1%); ethylene glycol – moderate severity (43.5%); methanol – severe (55.7%). The analysis of deaths in nosological groups T51–T52 showed their predominance in the T51 group – 43,9%.

Review of the genus Omalium Gravenhorst, 1802 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Omaliinae: Omaliini) of Siberia and Far Eastern Russia, with notes on some species from Mongolia and Japan.

A taxonomic and faunistic review of the genus Omalium Gravenhorst, 1802 of Siberia and Far Eastern Russia is presented, including notes on some species from Mongolia and Japan. Four species groups are established for 16 species of the genus: Amplissimum group containing O. longicorne Luze, 1906 (Mongolia, eastern Siberia); Caesum group containing the Palaearctic O. caesum Gravenhorst, 1806 and O. golovatchi sp. nov. (Russia: Kemerovo Area); Oxyacanthae group containing the Holarctic O. oxyacanthae Gravenhorst, 1806 and Palaearctic O. septentrionis Thomson, 1857; Rivulare group containing the Palaearctic O. curtipenne Mklin, 1878, Japanese O. diffine Sharp, 1889, O. hibernum Hayashi, 2006, as well as O. shibatai Watanabe, 1990 and O. kurilicum sp. nov. (Russia: Kuril islands: Iturup, Kunashir), O. japonicum Sharp, 1874 (Japan, South Korea), O. niponense Sharp, 1889 (Far Eastern Russia, Japan), Holarctic O. rivulare (Paykull, 1789) and O. strigicolle Wankowicz, 1869, Mongolian O. scabrum Smetana, 1975, and O. subsolanum Herman, 2001 (Siberia, Japan); and unspecified group containing the Japanese O. tenue Weise, 1877. All new species, and O. curtipenne, O. diffine, O. longicorne, O. niponense and O. subsolanum are (re-)described and illustrated. A new synonymy is established: O. curtipenne = O. lacki Bernhauer, 1940 syn. nov. Lectotypes are designated for O. clavatum Luze, 1906, O. japonicum and O. lacki. The habitus of O. oxyacanthae, O. scabrum and O. septentrionis, and, in addition, the aedeagus and female accessory sclerites for O. japonicum and O. strigicolle are illustrated. A checklist and key to all species of Omalium of Asian part of Russia eastwards of Ural Mts., Mongolia and Japan are provided. Three species, that were based on the misidentifications, are excluded from the fauna of Siberia: O. allardii Fairmaire & Brisout, 1859, O. excavatum Stephens, 1834 and O. foraminosum Mklin, 1852. Distributional maps for the new species and O. curtipenne, O. diffine, O. longicorne, O. niponense and O. subsolanum are given. Several species of Omalium are recorded from a certain area for the first time: O. curtipenne from Tyumen Area, Evenkia, Chita Area, Yakutia, Magadan and Amur areas, O. longicorne and O. oxyacanthae from Amur Area, O. niponense from Russia (Maritime Province), O. rivulare from Khanti-Mansi Autonomous region, Tomsk and Novosibirsk areas, O. septentrionis from Khanty-Mansi and Taimyr autonomous regions, Evenkia, Tuva, Amur Area and Khabarovsk Territory, O. strigicolle from Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region, Tyumen Area, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Evenkia, Tuva, Amur Area and Khabarovsk Territory, and O. subsolanum from Amur Area and Japan.

Epidemiology Study of Trichinella Spiralis Infection in Tyumen Region.

Trichinosis is a parasitic infection with worldwide distribution, which is caused by consuming pork or other meats containing cystic larvae of the parasitic nematode Trichinella Spiralis. This study aimed to investigate the status of infectionTrichinellaSpiralisin domestic and wild animals. To study the spread of trichinelles in animals, a retrospective analysis was conducted based on the study of research journals and conducted their research methods of compressor trichinelloscopy (microscopic) and digestion of samples in artificial gastric juice (biochemical). A total of 17 positive samples were detected for trichinellosis during the observation period, of which 58.8% belonged to a badger (Meles Meles), and 35.3% to the brown bear (Ursusarctos), and only 5.9% of wild boar (Susscrofa). The mean long-term extent of infection belonged to badgers (18.2%), bears (7.9%), and wild boars (0.05%). The study found that between 2015 and 2020, seventeen Trichinella cases were recorded among wildlife in the Tyumen region and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region. The number of annual Trichinella detection cases was declining, indicating the effectiveness of veterinary services. This study determined that the primary source of infection was bears, badgers, and wild boars. Among the 17 positive samples, 58.8% belonged to the badger, 35.3% to the bear, and only 5.9% to the wild boar.

The plagiatus species group of the genus Geodromicus Redtenbacher, 1857 (Insecta: Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Omaliinae), and additional data on some species from Japan.

The plagiatus group of the genus Geodromicus Redtenbacher, 1857 includes eight Palaearctic species: the widespread G. plagiatus (Fabricius, 1798), the European G. corsicus Fagel, 1958, G. nigrita (P.W.J. Müller, 1821), G. pedemontanus Fagel, 1958, and G. suturalis (Lacordaire, 1835), and the East Palaearctic G. magnus Shavrin, 2020, G. paramerus Shavrin 2000, and G. shii Cheng & Peng, 2020 (in Cheng et al. 2020). The species group is reviewed, defined, and briefly discussed. The species are illustrated and a key is provided. Two additional species groups are established for four species from Japan with a strongly sclerotized flagellum: the aokii group, containing G. aokii (Watanabe, 1972) and G. sprius (Watanabe, 1990), and the sinuatus group containing G. sinuatus (Sharp, 1889) and G. suensoni Bernhauer, 1936. Both groups are defined, briefly discussed, and a key to each group is given. Several new synonymies are established: G. plagiatus = G. (s.str.) klimai A. Bordoni, 1984 syn. n., = G. (s.str.) schoenmanni A. Bordoni, 1984 syn. n.; G. nigrita = G. nigrita lohsei Jarrige, 1963 syn. n., = G. niveus Bernhauer, 1941 syn. n.; G. sinuatus = G. watanabei Hayashi, 2018 syn. n.; G. suensoni = G. takabai Hayashi, 2018 syn. n. Lectotypes of Staphylinus plagiatus Fabricius, 1798 and Anthophagus sinuatus Sharp, 1889 are designated. Distribution maps are provided for G. plagiatus, G. sinuatus, and G. suensoni. Geodromicus plagiatus is recorded from Cataluña province of Spain, Moldova, Georgia, Uzbekistan, and several regions of Russia (Pskov Area, Stavropol Area, Karachay-Cherkess and Chechen republics, Sverdlovsk Area, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Evenkia and Yakutia), G. nigrita from Andorra and G. suturalis from Slovenia for the first time.

Estimation of the Spatial and Habitat Distribution of Anseriformes in the Yamal-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Regions (Experience from the Use of Ultralight Aircrafts)

In Russia, the conservation of anseriformes is possible through the creation of temporary huntingfree zones during hunting season, especially in spring. A justification for creating such zones and outlining their boundaries (by analogy with the experience derived from the countries on North America) each season must be based on data on annual waterfowl monitoring. The present paper describes census experience drawn from the use of ultralight aviation for further delineating the key staging sites of waterfowl in western Siberia. To refine the duration of monitoring, observation data were combined with those derived from geese equipped with GSM-GPS transmitters. In the spring and autumn of 2012–2014, we covered over 50000 km of aerial surveys of 25 waterfowl species. A new method is advanced for assessing their numbers based on visual observations, flock photography, and modern statistics. We estimated the species densities in 16 habitat types delineated on the basis of Landsat imagery. In terms of this, a system is proposed for extrapolating the survey data on 25 waterfowl species onto model sites in western Siberia. Drops in the numbers of several mass game species were noted. Based on an evaluation of the habitat quality, ten waterfowl hunting-free zones were suggested and delineated. A GIS project was launched that incorporated the main migration routes, boundaries of the key sites, places of mass bird aggregations, and sites for the observation of rare, Red Data Book. A program of long-term monitoring and sustainable use of waterfowl in the study region is offered. Such an approach must also be applied to other regions of Russia.

Investigation of physical and chemical heterogeneity of lake sediment sapropols in the okreg-yugra territory of khanty-mansi autonomous region (Russia)

The results of statistical processing of the physicochemical parameters of sapropel of lake deposits of the territory of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra are presented, which indicate that the heterogeneity of the composition and properties of sapropel is primarily determined by the available geographical position of the studied lakes: Their confinement to the right or left banks of the Ob River valley depend on the composition of the parent substrate the lake basins are formed on. The geomorphological factor imposes a minimal effect on the variability of the physicochemical characteristics of sapropel, being reflected only in the 4th most important of the identified factors. In contrast, none of the factors affects the deterioration of the balneological properties of sapropel.

Demographic and Morphometric Characteristics of the Moor Frog Rana arvalis from a Transformed Habitat in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region—Yugra

We analyzed the variations in the demographic and morphological characteristics of mature Rana arvalis individuals from natural and transformed habitats near Surgut. Female frogs from the transformed habitat were significantly smaller than males and significantly younger and smaller than females from the natural habitat. The direction of sex-related differences in both populations was the same as in most of the populations of the species that had been studied earlier. The low values of the mean body length (but not age) that were recorded in populations living near the northern range limit correspond to the general trend of body size variation in adult frogs in relation to the length of the season of activity throughout its vast range. Sex-related differences in most of the studied characteristics were due only to the variations in body size; few characteristics are not dependent on the body size, and these characteristics are most likely to determine mating success in males. We observed no morphological differences related to different environmental conditions in both neighboring populations. The relative femur and shin lengths were significantly larger in males than in females not only in the two Surgut populations but in all other populations studied earlier; these differences were not related to the greater body length in males. A tendency toward an increase in the relative head width and a decrease in the relative femur and shin lengths from the southern to the northern populations was observed in both sexes; this tendency was related to neither the mean age nor the body length.

ELEMENTAL MUSIC-MAKING AS A HEALTH SAVING PHENOMENON IN THE SYSTEM OF GENERAL EDUCATION

The paper aims at drawing the attention of teaching community to the health promoting potential of music making disregarded nowadays by educational establishments. The traditional musical education focused mainly on musicology leads to artificial intellectualization, and leaves no room for chil-dren's imagination, intuition, creativity, joyful feelings and activities. The author discusses the specificity of the music teaching concept, developed by Carl Orff and his followers, and based on the complex understanding of human nature, history, living conditions, and corresponding with genetic laws. On the one hand, the music-making involves consideration of the learners' psychological features and individual propensities, and on the other hand, it has a syncretic effect on the main psychological and physiological functions including communication, speech, motion, etc. As the result, it resists the hypodynamia and fatigue, and promotes health. The paper reveals the experience of the Music Education Department in the Institute of Psychology and Pedagogy of Tumen State University, providing specializations in the Elemental Music-Making in Educational Process and Health Saving Potential of Music Teaching. The outcomes of the practical seminars and experimental teaching in the Primary School № 3 in Pytyah Town of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region confirm the author’s theory of the positive emotional impact of music-making on the learning and health saving activities.
