Поход Ивана III к Новгороду «миром» в 1475–1476 гг. стал одним из ключевых эпизодов в продолжительном процессе присоединения Новгородской республики к Великому княжеству Московскому. Данному событию была посвящена пространная повесть, включенная в состав целого ряда летописей XV–XVI вв. В настоящей статье рассматривается вопрос об источнике, из которого данный текст попал в Лицевой летописный свод. Сопоставив текст последнего с другими памятниками русского летописания, автор приходит к выводу, что повесть в Лицевом своде была заимствована из Московского великокняжеского свода конца XV в. Ivan III’s “in peace” campaign to Novgorod in 1475–1476 became one of the key episodes in the long process of annexing the Novgorod Republic to the Grand Duchy of Moscow. It is not surprising that a large novel was dedicated to this event, which was included in a number of chronicles of the 15th–16th centuries. This article examines the source, from which this text got into the Illustrated Chronicle of Ivan the Terrible. The author compared the text of the latter with other Russian chronicles and came to the conclusion that the story in the Illustrated Chronicle was borrowed from the Moscow Grand Duke’s Chronicle of the late of the 15th century.
