Abstract
본 연구는 비정형 도형의 넓이를 어림 측정하는 활동을 통해 초등 과학영재와 수학영재 학생들의 측정감감과 어림측정전략을 분석한 것이다. 본 연구에서 사용한 MEA (Model Eliciting Activity)는 학습자가 실재 상황에서 주어진 문제를 해결하기 위해 수학적 전략을 구상하는 활동으로 비정형인 철새서식지에서 철새수를 어림하는 전략을 세우는 것이 문제의 주 내용이었다. 본 연구에 참여한 초등영재학생들은 P대학 부설과학영재교육원의 과학영재 18명과 수학영재 20명, 전체 38명이다. 학생들이 어림 측정 전략이 기록된 활동지가 본 연구의 주요 데이터이며, 연구자들에 의해 개발된 분석틀에 근거하여 질적 분석 및 기술통계 방법으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 비정형 도형의 넓이를 어림 측정하는 과제에서 초등 수학 영재 학생들이 과학 영재 학생들보다 측정감각이 뛰어나며, 더 구체적인 어림 측정 전략을 사용 한다는 것을 보여준다.
