Abstract

This study does not focus on analyzing the syntactic characteristics of '나쁘지 않다' and its meaning, but whether it is in the category of 'good' in the syntactic meaning or 'bad' in the pragmatic meaning when used in writing. It classified whether it belongs to the category and explored the cause of the use of 'not bad' even though it is possible to convey a clear meaning with direct expression. The reasons for maintaining the use of ambiguous expressions in blogs, which are private spaces where free expression is guaranteed without the use of ambiguous expressions, are divided into four aspects: blog genre characteristics, media characteristics, ethical characteristics, and social and cultural characteristics. I looked for factors outside of language. In particular, publicity in media characteristics affects all the other three aspects, and it shows that these public characteristics of blogs have the greatest influence on maintaining the expression 'not bad'. This indicates that a blog is a private space and has a significant meaning as a public space.
