Abstract

This study defines 21st century as a society of aesthetic pathology that derives pleasure from misery and disgust. This is because it is difficult to approach the totality of modern society without describing ugliness in it. To this end, in the webtoon Self-taught Fight, the three-step themes of fight, sublimity, and anger are examined. In ‘Bad Girl and Fighting Influencer’, the fight between bad girls is recognized not as an ethical point of view between good and evil, but as a political act that reorganizes the order of power through the body. In 'The Sublime and the Equality of the Senses', we find the climax of the sublime where a terrifying intoxication occurs in a grotesque fight scene. In this process, the subject of the fight regains the share of the senses from the invisible to the visible. In ‘Publicity of Anger’, it is expressed in the form of violence, but paradoxically, the impulse to sympathize with the world is inherent in anger.
