Abstract

The article assesses the possibility of the Russian energy industry to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. As a condition for the fulfillment of the task, the necessity of creating an engineering and technical structure in order to create equipment suitable for the modernization of existing energy systems is considered. It is also necessary to obtain complete knowledge and reliable basic data on climate effects, in the absence of which the modernization of existing energy systems is fundamentally impossible.
