Abstract
The article examines issues related to the formation of food security in the Russian Federation, and as a consequence of this, the provision, availability and consumption of a variety of food products by the population of our country. An analysis of the dynamics of consumption indicators of meat and meat products, milk and dairy products, potatoes, vegetables and eggs, both on average for the Russian Federation and at the level of federal districts, was carried out. Based on the results of the analysis, appropriate conclusions were drawn and the main directions for further development were determined.
