Abstract

In this article we review Spanish and Latin American historical studies which were carried out for the past two years in Korea. This year marks the tenth anniversary of Iberoamerican History Research Society. In spite of this lapse of time, the number of researchers still remains unchanged.<BR> However, a few of researchers have made a notable achievement in deepening and extending their research topics and fields. For instance, some researchers who major in history of Spain have studied a wide variety of subjects such as Reconquista, sexualities, witches, Neo-malthusianism, historical revisionism and so on, while the others who specialize in history of Latin America have investigated a diversity of topics such as liberalism, César Chaves, Cold War, post-colonialism and Christianity.<BR> In this period the researchers have tended to adopt three new approaches in their investigation. First of all, they began to put an emphasis on the academic convergence. Secondly, they have showed an interest in the politics of memory. Lastly, they started to pay attention to the history of enterprise.
