Abstract

The article analyzes the idea of single civil nation in the context of the problem of ensuring the national unity of Russian society. The author examines general theoretical approaches to understanding this problem and its reflection at the level of constitutional and legal policy of the state. The author concludes that today in Russia there are no clear and scientifically substantiated mechanisms for solving the problem of national unity of Russian society due to the fact that individual components of the relevant problematic are transferred from the category of “accompanying” to “main”, which leads to the leveling of the central problem. The article also draws attention to the entire block of social problems that complicate the implementation of the idea of national unity.
