Abstract

The tourism industry is currently facing the most severe challenges that push it to con-stant reform, the need to react with lightning speed to global economic, political and epi-demiological processes. The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has led to a reduction in the inbound and outbound tour-ist flow. Sanctions restrictions, withdrawal of foreign companies from the Russian market, restriction of civil aviation flights have aggra-vated this situation. However, despite the recession, there are positive trends in the development of the tourism industry: the implementation of the National Project «Tourism and the Hospitality Industry», tourist cashback, the activation of the construction of tourist infrastructure, prefer-ential lending and taxation of tourist enterprises. The article discusses the problems faced by the tourism industry in 2022 and the directions of their solutions.
