Abstract
The article examines the essence of the interaction of religious and esoteric elements in the novel «The Alchemist» by Paulo Coelho. The features of artistic modeling of Carlos Castaneda’s concepts in the context of alchemical views are considered. The alchemical components as part of the artistic space of the novel are investigated. The conclusion is made about the inseparability of the image of the components of the Christian and Islamic faith from the esoteric world of the «Alchemist».
