Abstract

The article considers the terminological definition of the phenomena associated with literary implementation of mythological thinking patterns and mythological motives. Relying on the studies on myth criticism and mytho-poetics, the author identifies “terminological casus” conditioned by polysemanticism of the notions “mythologization” and “myth-creation”. The paper analyses modern literary critics’ attempts to overcome this “terminological difficulty”, justifies reasonability of introducing into scientific circulation the notion “author’s myth creation” that designates the process of creating literary reality according to the patterns of mythological consciousness.
