Abstract

The article presents the results of the author's empirical study of the factors influencing the formation of the social activity of students of socionomic professions. The author gives a working definition of "social activity" and proves the possibility of its use in the framework of this research. Social activity is one of the leading qualities of a person, an essential for the harmonization of his relations with society and the state, stabilizes the unity of goals of social and state development. The article describes the content of professional qualities of future socionomic specialists, the place of social activity in the structure of professional training of teachers, social workers, and psychologists, as representatives of the socionomic direction. The role of objective and subjective factors influencing the formation of social activity of higher education applicants is also shown. In modern conditions, these factors have a controversial impact on the development of a socially active personality in the context of professional training. The main contradiction found in the article is the presence of various institutions (family, education, media, etc.), which can participate in the formation of youth social activity, and the lack of purposeful activity on their part. No less important contradiction of social activity formation of the future specialists of socionomic processes is the fact that the requirement of society to form a special type of personality, characterized by civic consciousness and setting on different types of social activity, is growing.
