Abstract

This study analyzed the effects of structural, psychological, and environmental characteristics on job satisfaction. A survey was conducted on November 22−27, 2017, and 365 responses from fashion models who are currently active were used in the data analysis. As a result, the structural characteristics were classified into role ambiguity, account of work, work autonomy, reward fairness, and job stability. Moreover, the classifications for psychological characteristics were self-efficacy, positive disposition, and expectation sufficiency; whereas, those of environmental characteristics were re-employment opportunity, communication and human relations. Lastly, job satisfaction was classified into job environment, model environment, and relationship satisfaction. The role ambiguity and account of work negatively influenced job satisfaction; whereas, work autonomy, reward fairness, and job stability have a positive influence. Similarly, all psychological and environmental characteristics have a positive effect on job satisfaction. Results of this study will be helpful in improving the skills of fashion models and advancing their careers.
