Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between the physical self-concept and the psychological happiness in women who participate in yoga sessions. Research was conducted from August of 2012 to June of 2013, with women that reside in S-City of Gyeonggi province, S-city of central Korea, and G-city. This study was carried out using the convenience sampling method a type of a nonrandom sampling method. Out of the 270 total sample size (women who have taken part in the research), 252 were ultimately chosen to be analyzed because 18 of the women have half-heartedly completed the survey. The data from these 252 women were encoded in to a computer, and was analyzed with the SPSS Window ver 20.0 program.e statistical significance level was set up at p.05. The frequency analysis, descriptive statistic analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, multiple linear regression were used to analyze the data. The results of this research is as follows: After analyzing the effects of physical self-concept on psychological well-being, we can first conclude that physical activity and general physical concept has a positive effect on one`s sense of immersion, while self-esteem has a negative effect on one`s sense of immersion. Secondly, we can conclude that one`s general physical concept affects psychological happiness positively, while one`s self-esteem affects psychological happiness negatively.
