Abstract

The article presents the basic results of research activities of A. V. Gokov (1964-2016), an employee of the Kamchatka Regional museum, involving the study of Russian monuments in Kamchatka. His research covered the problems of Kamchatka historical topography, toponymy, and history, early documents on the history of the North-East. The excavations of the Nizhne-Kamchatsk town made a significant contribution to the study of Russian monuments in Kamchatka. The resulting archaeological collection includes about four thousand items characterizing the material and spiritual culture of the population of the monument. The materials obtained during the study of the cultural layer are an important source for studying the material culture of Kamchatka's population.
