Abstract
In the first quarter of the XXI century, a difficult situation with migration policy is developing in Russia. This idea was especially worrisome at the XII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum in May 2024. During his speech, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (IC RF), Professor A.I. Bastrykin, repeatedly returned to the issues of legal regulation of migration. This article is devoted to the development of the system of legal regulation of migration relations in the Russian Federation at the present stage in the light of the emergence of new challenges and criminogenic threats. In order to overcome the diverse political and legal problems in the field of regulation of migration relations, the authors propose current directions for reforming the sphere of public relations under consideration.
