Abstract

Global warming, geopolitical tensions, and depletion of natural resources are factors influencing the development of the country’s energy sector. The authors analyzed regulatory documents and the current situation in the Russian Federation in areas related to traditional and alternative energy. Modern threats and risks in the energy sector are considered, and priority directions for its development are identified. The current state of the country’s energy balance has been studied, including from the point of view of its environmental friendliness. Conclusions are formulated on the prospects for energy development, taking into account the measures taken to minimize the negative impact on the environment and ensure the socio-economic development of the country as a whole and its regions.
