Abstract

The study aims to identify the elocutive specificity of media texts of such turbulent times as the COVID-19 pandemic by using the methodology of decoding rhetoric. Decoding rhetoric is a concept that reconstructs the mechanisms of text formation and determines their effectiveness. The paper consistently describes the components of the elocutive strategy of text formation represented by the tactics of authorization, addressing, axiological explication, ornamentation. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the use of linguo-rhetorical reconstruction to determine the text-forming features of the so-called pandemic media texts, which contributes to the formation of a system of ideas about pandemic discourse as a whole. As a result of reconstructing the elocutive strategy of text formation, the linguistic explicators of the tactics of authorization and addressing that create dialogicity, the most important communicative property of texts of the turbulent period, have been found. With the help of computer technology elements, the representatives of the tactics of axiological explication have been identified. The author comes to the conclusion about the dialogicity and publicity of pandemic media texts as a consequence of actualizing the elocutive strategy of text formation and the tactics that objectify it.
