Abstract

The issue of safe-sustainable handling of catastrophic costs in the downstream of catastrophic dams is urgent. With the various constructions available today, catastrophic costs are incurred in the lower stream according to local conditions. The article discusses research which must spend from upstream to downstream emergency discharge water for real project, when we have period of flood. There are determined emergency discharge water for research object (135 m3/sec), which must be implemented through a new type of broad threshold and chute coupling facility. Preliminary research has determined the approximate dimensions of jointing building and its hydraulic calculation has been carried out. The test of the model developed by the author should be conducted experimentally in the laboratory of Academician Tsotne Mirtskhulava Institute of Water Management to determine the advantages of the selected option compared to the existing water spillway and to select the optimal dimensions of the new type spillway. Based on the data obtained from the experiment, it will be possible to determine the construction of a free surface mark for runoff.
